DSP - DISPLACEMENT PILES "lost bit"

DSP piles are cast-in-situ piles, installed by rotation and crowd forces. DSP "lost bit" tool is rotated and driven into the ground at a controlled speed to reach final depth. A partial or full depth reinforcing cage is then inserted through the large diameter, hollow DSP drill shaft. Concrete is then pumped to a hopper mounted on top of the shaft and it flows down the hollow stem to fill the borehole as the DSP tool is withdrawn.

Following the development of high torque rotary heads and drilling rigs with high crowd and extraction forces, the range of diameters and depths for DSP piles has increased significantly and it is possible to install DSP piles through a wide variety of soils including clays, silts, sands and moraine. DSP piles can be installed through stiff soils and socket into rocks.

Baltpile can install DSP piles of following diametre: 406/530mm un 508/640mm with lenght up to 60,0 m (in some cases even deeper).

ADVANTAGES:
  • Increase in shaft friction and point resistance due to displacement of the surrounding soil;
  • Reduced consumptions of concrete;
  • High daily production outputs;
  • High construction quality;
  • There is no vibration during their instalation;
  • Minimal amounts of drilled soils.
